KEYS POINTS
- A longitudinal observational study was conducted on 14 patients (7 in the intervention group, 7 in the control group), with data collected at baseline and at 6 weeks.
- There is no statistically significant differences were observed between groups in HIT-6 score (headache-related quality of life) Pain and disability (VAS) and Self-efficacy score (PSEQ)
- 57% of physiotherapy patients reported a perceived reduction in medication use, compared to 14% in the control group. Most common techniques included muscle strengthening and aerobic exercise.
- Although the results did not reach statistical significance, they suggest a potential benefit of physiotherapy in helping reduce medication use among patients with CDH. In clinical practice, physiotherapy could represent a complementary therapeutic option, focused on reducing disability and supporting withdrawal from acute medication use.
